Emory Swimming & Diving Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

The Emory University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams as a whole, in addition to 26 individual members of the teams, were recognized as Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their performances both in the pool and the classroom last year.

Emory University has named former Eagle and postgraduate scholarship recipient Nick Lake the new Assistant Coach for the swimming and diving team, and the Aquatics Director for the Woodruff Physical Education Center.

Ciardelli & Westby Named ESPN the Magazine Academic All-Americans

Emory University senior swimmers Lillian Ciardelli and Ruth Westby each received one of the highest academic honors a collegiate athlete can earn, as the pair was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Women’s At Large First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

200 & 400 Free Relays
(Swimming) Emory University seniors Ruth Westby and Lillian Ciardelli, sophomore Claire Pavlak, and freshman Ann Wolber were part of two National Championship relays, helping the Eagles to a team title at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The four set a NCAA Division III record in the 200-yard freestyle relay, winning the event with a time of 1:31.80. The four Eagles also topped the standings in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:22.44. [more]
