Rubinstein & Spaulding Remain Alive At NCAA D-III Doubles Championships

The tandem of senior Scott Rubinstein and junior James Spaulding came away with a thrilling three-set win Friday evening in the quarterfinals of the NCAA D-III Men's Doubles Championships.

Rubinstein and Spaulding kept their hopes for a national title alive with a 7-6, 2-6, 7-5, triumph over the Carnegie Mellon duo of Chaz Downing and Daniel Levine. In a tense third set, the Emory pair broke at 5-5 and proceeded to hold serve in raising their overall record to 22-12 on the year. By virtue of their performance at the Championships, Rubinstein and Spaulding have captured All-America honors for the third straight season.

Rubinstein and Spaulding will square off against University Athletic Association foes Tyler Raclin and Jeremy Yuan from the University of Chicago in Saturday's semifinals. The match is slated to begin at 3:00 pm (EDT).
