Aman Manji Wins Singles Opener At ITA Oracle Cup -- Omsky & Jemison Prevail in Doubles

Emory University senior Aman Manji battled to an opening-round win in singles play Thursday afternoon at the ITA Oracle Cup.  The Oracle Cup is being held at the Surprise Tennis Center in Surprise, Arizona.

Manji, the No. 4 seed in the DIII portion of the event, grinded to a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 decision over Arthur Fagundes of UT-Tyler.  The victory sends Manji into Friday's semifinals (11:30 am EDT) where he will meet Michael Rozenvasser of Carnegie Mellon University.  Rozenvasser, unseeded heading into the Oracle Cup, advanced after toppling No. 1 seed Kai Yuen Leung of Skidmore College.

In doubles play, the Eagles' David Omsky and Jonathan Jemison were victorious in their first match, registering a 7-6, 6-1 verdict over the RPI tandem of Zack Ebenfield and Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez.  Omsky and Jemison now meet Glenn Hull and Nikolai Parodi of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the semifinals.
