Emory Men's Tennis Trio To Compete At ITA Oracle Cup

Senior Aman Manji (Sammamish, WA), junior David Omsky (Aventura, FL) and sophomore Jonathan Jemison (Marietta, GA) will represent the Emory men's tennis program this week at the ITA Oracle Cup.  The event, held at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Club in Surprise, Arizona, begins on Thursday (Oct. 13) and runs through Sunday.  The Oracle Cup is formerly the Small College Championships.

The Oracle Cup includes the winners of the singles and doubles at eight USTA/ITA regional championships. The Oracle Cup include selections from NCAA Division II, NAIA and junior/community colleges.

Manji will be competing in the D-III singles bracket as the No. 4 seed, with his opening match taking place on Thursday morning (10:30 am MST) against the winner of the play-in match that features Arthur Fagundes of UT-Tyler and Spencer Watanabe of George Fox University. Manji played his way into this weekend's action after winning the ITA South Region Singles title.

In doubles, Omsky and Jemison will enter the Oracle Cup as either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed, with that being determined by a play-in match between the Northwest and Southwest Region winners.  In any case, the duo is slated to begin play on Thursday at 3:00 pm.

The winners of the Division III competitions will advance to the 'Super Bowl' bracket, along with winners of the other three divisions, to determine the winner the overall Small College ITA champion on Sunday, October 16.

Meanwhile, Emory will send a contingent of players to the Grizzly Open, which will be played on the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College.  Action at the Grizzly Open begins on Friday and runs through Sunday.
