Three members of the Emory men's tennis program have been selected as the University Athletic Association's Players of the Week following their efforts at the ITA South Region Championships.
Senior Aman Manji (Sammamish, WA) was one of the honorees after capturing the singles crown, while the tandem of junior David Omsky (Aventura, FL) and sophomore Jonathan Jemison (Marietta, GA) were chosen following their championship run in doubles.
Manji won all six of his singles matches en route to claiming the championship. His performance enabled him to earn All-America honors for the 2016-17 campaign and advanced him to the ITA Oracle Cup, Oct. 13-16, in Surprise, Arizona. In doubles, Manji and freshman Rex Serituk won their opening four matches in advancing to the semifinals.
Unseeded heading into the tournament, the Jemison/Omsky duo rattled off five victories en route to the winning crown. On the final day of action, Jemison and Omsky topped teammates Aman Manji and Rex Serituk in the semifinals, 8-4, before defeating the No. 4-seeded team of Alejandro Centurion and Davis Plummer of Millsaps, 6-2, 6-4, in the title showdown.
