Emory University junior Moustafa Khattab was named the University Athletic Association Men's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. It is the first career honor for the Toronto native.
Khattab notched one goal and one assist as the Eagles went 2-0 during the week against Piedmont College and No.-1 ranked University of Chicago. His one tally of the week against the top-ranked Maroons acted as the game-winner as it broke a scoreless tie in the 15th minute as Emory went on to upset UC, 3-0. Khattab added an assist on Tuesday in the 5-2 win over the Lions, giving him a team-leading three assists on the year.
The Eagles, winners of seven in a row, return to action Friday evening at 5:00 PM against New York University.
