Emory junior Matt Organisak (Sudbury, MA) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Golfer of the Week following his performance at the
Wynlakes Invitational. It is the third time this year and seventh his career that he has been chosen for the honor. The 36-hole Invitational was played on the 6,979-yard, par-72 Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.
Matt Organisak tied as the Emory golf team's top performer and helped the Eagles to a runner-up finish at the tournament.
Organisak, along with sophomore Eric Yiu, shot one-under par 141 over the 36 holes, tying for second place on the overall leader board out of 83 players. Organisak carded rounds of even-par 72 on the opening day of action, followed by a one-under 71 over the final 18 holes, the 13th time in 19 rounds this year that he had shot par or better.
Emory finished second in the 15-team field, turning in a score of 583 (296-287).
So far this year, Organisak is averaging a team-leading 71.5 strokes over 19 rounds of play.
